The new characters In the series were not that good at all 。 They were to basic and they did not pop out as much as the other main characters。 I think they should add more characters like Hisoka and kurapika because they are different in a unique way 。 I did Like the end of the book when the faced the pirates because it was a challenge for Gon and hisoka 。 The overall book is not that good tho because it feels like the exciting parts are not constant like the other volumes 。

Esto de Greed Island sigue sin mejorar。 Este tomo se mueve un poco más rápido y finalmente Gon averigua que el videojuego es un lugar real del mundo。Como es costumbre del maestro Togashi sus combates son mucho de estrategia y reglas。 Eso es atractivo para algunos lectores pero para mí es tedioso， son demasiados detalles a considerar porque sus estrategias son muy complejas y son tantos detalles que al final los ignoro y solo veo la acción。Los personajes se enfrentan contra un game master， un fun Esto de Greed Island sigue sin mejorar。 Este tomo se mueve un poco más rápido y finalmente Gon averigua que el videojuego es un lugar real del mundo。Como es costumbre del maestro Togashi sus combates son mucho de estrategia y reglas。 Eso es atractivo para algunos lectores pero para mí es tedioso， son demasiados detalles a considerar porque sus estrategias son muy complejas y son tantos detalles que al final los ignoro y solo veo la acción。Los personajes se enfrentan contra un game master， un fundador del juego junto con Gin， eso obliga a que los personajes se alíen con otros y construyan una estrategia que les permita vencer a uno de los oponentes más fuertes del juego。 Me gustó mucho la aparición de Hisoka， de nuevo su comportamiento tan misterioso obliga a Killua a pensar muy concentrado en los motivos de este personaje tan curioso。Ojalá en el siguiente tomo ya acabe el arco de Greed Island。 。。。more

I admire Togashi's confidence to go all in on whatever idea he adds to this series。 Nen is thoroughly explained and built up through the series。 Each arc has different characters aside from Gon， Killua， and usually Hisoka。 He made a huge bet on implementing this card system for Greed Island， which has totally paid off and given the arc a creative twist。 He makes similar leaps of faith when putting roadblocks in our heroes' path （such as a sport competition that segues into forming a new team， wh I admire Togashi's confidence to go all in on whatever idea he adds to this series。 Nen is thoroughly explained and built up through the series。 Each arc has different characters aside from Gon， Killua， and usually Hisoka。 He made a huge bet on implementing this card system for Greed Island， which has totally paid off and given the arc a creative twist。 He makes similar leaps of faith when putting roadblocks in our heroes' path （such as a sport competition that segues into forming a new team， which segues back into the competition， which concludes with an intense game of super powered dodgeball）。 Because the these challenges often aren't a fight to the death （or their deadliness can be averted）， we're able to get these challenges that pose the very real risk of our heroes failing。 Oftentimes the triumph comes in the form of getting a good hit in on Hisoka， or strategically getting captured， or staying in the fight long enough for your opponent to give up， or just surviving a hit from the dodgeball。 From top to bottom， this series is set up to surprise the reader。 You never know what you're gonna get or how it will play out。 。。。more

Having been through this arc in the anime， I am even more awed from the manga。 The whole Greed Island concept cannot be overstated - Togashi created his own card game with intricate spells and tactics。 Furthermore， he then found loopholes in his own game and applied them to the characters' actions， creating an authentic game and narrative。 Also， the fact that the story presents characters well into the game in conjunction with our novice heroes makes for some efficient and helpful storytelling。 Having been through this arc in the anime， I am even more awed from the manga。 The whole Greed Island concept cannot be overstated - Togashi created his own card game with intricate spells and tactics。 Furthermore， he then found loopholes in his own game and applied them to the characters' actions， creating an authentic game and narrative。 Also， the fact that the story presents characters well into the game in conjunction with our novice heroes makes for some efficient and helpful storytelling。 As a storyteller myself， I recognize this as masterful work。 Rundown:- Bomber （aka Genthru） has a quick scene， but is overall relegated to a looming presence throughout this volume。 This arc is now a game of collecting and monopolizing hard-to-get cards so Bomber cannot complete the set。 Typing that out makes it seem like a bland plot， but it's not！- Though Gon， Killua， and Bisky aren't super far along the game - they are about halfway through - they have figured out tricks to get some hard-to-get cards， which makes them valuable when they meet up with the group of players trying to outlast Bomber。 The scene is probably more for the reader to better understand the situation at hand and further rules of the game， but is still rather compelling。 The difference between Killua's tactful words and Gon's open mouth is on full display here。- The gang goes in search of a card which nobody in the game has， and it's perhaps the most compelling saga of Greed Island thus far。 After fulfilling the conditions to challenge some pirates to leave the island， the group is challenged to beat the pirates in good-ol-fashioned SPORTS。 However， the team is weaksauce as is， so the strong players must recruit other strong players。 That leads to。。。- HISOKA。 NAKED。 ERECT。 The Spider subplot is acknowledged but not really furthered。 We'll tackle that later。- Gon， Killua， Bisky and Hisoka meet up with Tsezguerra and recruit his team to take down the pirates。 I really like him， especially as he internally analyzes Gon and Killua。 Tsezguerra is a legit hunter， as advertised， and has some sound logic about him。 To a lesser extent， Goreinu is a pretty decent filler character as well。 It's more realistic in a story when， every now and then， you come across a competent figure who just so happens to be a good guy。- Razor， the "leader" of the pirates， knows Ging， which just further adds to the legacy of Gon's long-lost father。 Also， Razor is terrifying！ That panel after he realizes who Gon is haunting， letting us know that the upcoming dodgeball game won't be fun for its players。 （view spoiler）[Also confirmed， if you didn't catch on already， Greed Island is a real place！ And these pirates are real life criminals！ （hide spoiler）]- The volume ends in the middle of the dodgeball game， so the climax will have to wait。 PS， how great is it to see Hisoka teaming up with the boys？ 。。。more
